Introduction of Institutional Research, Innovation and Sustainable Development
Institutional research plays a pivotal role in our university’s pursuit of excellence. From 2015 to 2017, our university received recognition under the Ministry of Education’s competitive program for “enhancing the professional management capabilities of university academic affairs.” This acknowledgment continued from 2018 to 2022 as we further executed the higher education in-depth development plan, titled “Institutional Research Management and Decision-Making Quality Assurance,” aiming to establish a new generation of universities.
During this period, we implemented various initiatives, including the Institutional Integrated Information System, the Institutional Research Data Warehousing Management System, the Institutional Information Disclosure Website, the cross-unit cooperative institutional research model, and the Institutional Decision-Making Analysis and Results Access Procedures. These endeavors encompassed enrollment management, learning and life, academic courses, and administrative procedures, enabling comprehensive analysis and feedback on resource allocation and strategic planning. Through initiatives such as Big Data Analysis courses, lectures, academic exchanges, and publications, we have fostered expertise in institutional research and established a PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) management cycle.
To enhance institutional quality, in 2022, the “Institutional Research Center” was transformed into the “Institutional Research, Innovation and Sustainable Development Center.” Following the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the center advances sustainability through four dimensions: governance, research, education, and external engagement.
